"Nowhere to Go/Love is a Sea" Short Story and Poem by SilentNoOne

I love the way your breath feels in my ear, as you whisper your dark thoughts. Your secrets, held tightly, entrusted to me. Your fingers glide upon my cheek, as you send shivers throughout my body. My chest gets heavy, as you show the knife you carry everywhere we go.

I sit, marinating in a mixture of primal fear, love, and lust. The way the moonlight hits the beads of sweat on your smooth skin. Your eyes wide, with a hint of insanity. The crooked smile, with tears in your eyes.

You await my response, upon revealing what you are. And with alarms ringing in my mind. No siren blares loud enough, to snap me out of your syren song.

You reach your hand out, to caress my face, but I pull back, slightly. Your tears drip, upon my chest, as I feel your hand creep closer, once again.

I couldn't pull any further away, nor did I truly want to. Your hand touched my cheek, gently rubbing and feeling my warmth. In a moment, I break. I lean into your palm, with a few subtle tears.

"My love is like water. It sways to and fro. It never stops moving, and I often get lost in its sea. Though, I try to stay ashore, for fear I may drown. I yearn ever after, to set sail once again. But moments like this. When a major storm roars. It's nice to have company, who makes the waves pure.

Please... Don't tell me you love me. For if it's not true... The ocean is fair, but a single storm can be cruel. I never learned how to swim, or to float, in the water around me. If your love wavers, I can assure you, right now... I will drown and sink deep, into depths no one may reach."
